AV-TEST Awards 2024 Recognize Top IT Security Products
IT security researcher AV-TEST has awarded 24 prizes to ten vendors for their IT security products' outstanding performance in the 2024 tests, covering protection, performance, and usability.
The IT security research institute AV-TEST has presented 24 awards to ten companies, recognizing the excellent performance of their IT security products throughout the 2024 testing year. The awards acknowledge top products for consumer and business users across Windows, MacOS, and Android operating systems.
AV-TEST highlighted that the winning products consistently demonstrated peak performance in all tested categories, including protection, performance, and usability. The institute emphasized the growing threat landscape and new regulatory demands, such as Europe's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), necessitating robust security solutions.
Products were eligible for awards only if they successfully passed AV-TEST's certification tests consistently over the entire year. The selection process was based solely on factual test results from 2024. In some categories, multiple products achieved identical top-tier results, leading to several vendors being honored in the same award class.
Specific categories saw multiple awards, including 'Best Protection' for consumer users and 'Best MacOS Security,' where several products achieved the same high standards. Similar scenarios occurred in tests for business users, particularly for protection and advanced threat protection.
Additionally, AV-TEST presented special certificates to IoT (Internet of Things) vendors who have maintained AV-TEST certification for three or five consecutive years, acknowledging their sustained commitment to security in the IoT sector.
