AV-TEST Awards 2024: Security Vendors Recognized for Performance

The IT security research institute AV-TEST has honored 24 products from 10 vendors for their achievements in 2024. The awards recognize consistent peak performance and strong research and development in IT security products for both consumer and business users across Windows, MacOS, and Android platforms.

The 2024 awards were presented across Protection, Performance, and Usability categories, including Advanced Protection for Windows, Mac Security, and Android Security. The event highlighted vendors' ability to address evolving malware threats and meet new regulatory demands, such as European cybersecurity legislation.

The evaluation process involved rigorous testing, including malware detection, performance metrics, and ease of use. Advanced Protection Tests (ATP) specifically assessed products' capabilities in stopping sophisticated threats like ransomware and info-stealers in real-world scenarios. Only products demonstrating consistent excellence throughout the year were eligible for awards.

AV-TEST also presented special honors to vendors with long-standing certifications for IoT security products. The selection of award recipients was based strictly on the factual test results from 2024, with several products in certain categories achieving the same high standard, leading to multiple awardees in those areas.
