The AV-TEST Institute has awarded 25 prizes to 12 manufacturers for their leading IT security products from the 2025 testing year. The awards recognize solutions for both consumer and business users across multiple platforms.
BERLIN – The AV-TEST Institute announced its 2025 award recipients today, presenting 25 accolades to 12 manufacturers for outstanding performance in IT security products. This marks the 15th year the institute has recognized top-tier security solutions for both consumer and business users across Windows, macOS, and Android platforms.
The testing covered product effectiveness in protection against malware, overall performance, and usability. A key focus area was Advanced Protection, where products were evaluated on their ability to detect and block emerging threats such as ransomware and infostealers.
AV-TEST noted a significant increase in malware, with registered samples for Windows systems exceeding 995 million between 2024 and 2025. Despite this, the institute confirmed the market offers robust solutions capable of defending against these evolving threats.
The certifications and awards serve as a benchmark for product reliability, aiding organizations in meeting regulatory compliance for cybersecurity, including mandates like the Cyber Resilience Act and NIS2.
To be considered for an award, products must successfully complete a rigorous year-long testing cycle, including Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) tests that simulate current attack methodologies. Winners are determined by consistent high performance across all evaluated categories.
