AV-TEST Awards 2025 Recognize Norton 360 for MacOS Security and Usability
IT security research institute AV-TEST has awarded Gen Digital's Norton 360 with the Best MacOS Security and Best Usability awards for 2025, recognizing its consistent top performance.
In March 2026, the IT security research institute AV-TEST recognized Gen Digital's Norton 360 with two significant accolades as part of the AV-TEST Awards 2025. The software received distinctions for Best MacOS Security and Best Usability for consumer users.
AV-TEST experts conduct thousands of tests in their laboratories to assess the performance of cybersecurity products across Windows, Mac, and Android platforms. Awards are granted to products that consistently achieve top scores in all testing categories, evaluating protection, performance, and usability.
Norton 360 was honored with the Best MacOS Security award for its flawless malware detection and prevention of false alarms. While macOS malware volume is lower than Windows, AV-TEST's databases now contain one million Mac-specific malware samples, including ransomware and infostealers. Norton 360 demonstrated consistent, high-level protection for Mac users.
Additionally, Norton 360 received the Best Usability award for its Windows version. Experts evaluated the software's effectiveness in distinguishing between harmless and malicious files. Norton 360's performance in this differentiation, without unnecessary false alarms, was rated at the highest level. For 2025, AV-TEST presented a total of 25 awards to 12 manufacturers across 11 categories.
