AV-TEST: Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Symantec Excel in Corporate Security Software Test
German lab AV-TEST evaluated 14 corporate security solutions over four months. Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and Symantec successfully detected and eliminated all malware threats.
The IT security testing lab AV-TEST has released its latest comprehensive comparison of security solutions for corporate users. The four-month endurance test, conducted from July to October 2017, examined 14 different software products with a primary focus on their protection capabilities against malware.
The test revealed that several solutions successfully detected and neutralized all tested malware threats, which included 400 new, unknown malware samples and over 20,000 known malware instances. Notably, Bitdefender, Kaspersky Lab (with both its Endpoint and Small Office Security versions), and Symantec (with both its Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Protection Cloud versions) achieved perfect scores, blocking all threats without exception.
F-Secure also demonstrated full detection rates throughout the entire test period. These companies' security solutions provided robust protection for business environments. AV-TEST awards up to six points for protection performance, and the top-performing solutions achieved the maximum score.
The testing methodology simulated real-world conditions, incorporating diverse malware types and evaluating the solutions' ability to update and leverage cloud services, mirroring typical corporate IT security management. The results aim to assist businesses in selecting the most effective protection for their systems.
