AV-TEST: Windows 11 Security Solutions Under Review

A significant portion of security solutions for Windows 11 offer robust protection against malware, according to AV-TEST's latest comparison released in June 2026.

The test assessed 14 different security packages, with most demonstrating excellent performance. The evaluation focused on protection, performance, and usability, exposing the software to over 12,000 malware samples, including the latest threats, and measuring their ability to detect and block them without false alarms.

Eight of the tested security solutions successfully detected all malware samples without exception. These included Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, ESET, F-Secure, McAfee, Norton, and TotalAV. Kaspersky and Microsoft also achieved near-perfect results with a 99.9 percent detection rate. Avira achieved a 99.7 percent detection rate, making one error in the real-world test.

According to the results, 12 out of the 14 evaluated software packages received full points (18/18) or near-full points (17.5/18), earning them the TOP PRODUCT label. This indicates that most consumer-focused security solutions have significantly evolved and are capable of addressing continuously developing cyber threats, which are increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.

The test findings underscore the importance of high-quality security software, as cyberattacks, such as the exploitation of botnets, remain prevalent. While the majority of tested programs performed well, three solutions—K7 Computing, Malwarebytes, and EnigmaSoft—lagged considerably, scoring only for partial detections.
