Marvel's superhero film "Avengers 4: Endgame (Extended Cut)" has grossed over 100 million yuan at the Chinese box office during its re-release. The film returned to cinemas on September 25, more than seven years after its initial debut.
The re-released version runs for 185 minutes, an increase of approximately four minutes from the original 181-minute cut in 2019. This extended version is being shown in high-specification formats, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and CINITY, and is available in both 2D and 3D.
In 2019, "Avengers 4: Endgame" was the highest-grossing foreign film in mainland China, earning 4.27 billion yuan. With the addition of the re-release revenue, the film's cumulative box office total in China now stands at 4.35 billion yuan.
The success of the re-release was reported by the professional box office tracking platform Dengta. The inclusion of new content and premium viewing options aims to draw audiences back to theaters for the extended cinematic experience.
