Avengers: Endgame Returns to Theaters with New Scenes

Marvel Studios has announced that "Avengers: Endgame" will return to theaters nationwide on September 25. This re-release, dubbed the "加码臻享版" (added value edition), will include four minutes of new footage not shown in the original 2019 release.

The additional scenes were filmed during the production of the upcoming "Avengers 5: Annihilation." Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have stated that these additions serve as a bridge between "Endgame" and the future "Avengers 5" installment, which is slated for a December 2026 release. The extended cut of "Endgame" will run 185 minutes, four minutes longer than the original 181-minute runtime.

"Avengers 5: Annihilation" is a major project within the Marvel Cinematic Universe's sixth phase. The decision to include new material from its production within the "Endgame" re-release aims to connect the cinematic arcs for audiences.

Upon its initial release in 2019, "Avengers: Endgame" achieved significant box office success, grossing nearly $2.8 billion worldwide and briefly holding the title of the highest-grossing film of all time. This re-release, occurring seven years after the film's debut, offers a chance for a new generation of viewers to experience the movie, along with exclusive content tied to future MCU narratives.
