German company AVM has released its new FRITZ!Box 4050 WLAN router, adding to its range of networking devices.

The FRITZ!Box 4050 is designed to connect to existing fiber modems, allowing users to access the full FRITZ! experience. It supports Wi-Fi 6 standards and AVM's mesh technology, enabling wireless data transfer rates of up to 3 Gbit/s. Operating on dual bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), the router optimizes Wi-Fi connections for contemporary mobile devices.

This new model in the FRITZ!Box 4er series also supports the DECT standard, functioning as a base station for telephony and smart home devices. It includes a port for analog phones and allows connection of FRITZ! and compatible third-party smart home products via the DECT ULE standard.

For wired connectivity, the FRITZ!Box 4050 provides one Gigabit WAN port and three Gigabit LAN ports. These allow integration of devices such as storage media, printers, smart TVs, and game consoles into the home network. A USB 2.0 port is also included for additional peripherals. The router comes equipped with standard FRITZ! features, including parental controls, a media server, a guest Wi-Fi network, WireGuard VPN, and remote access via MyFRITZ!.

The FRITZ!Box 4050 is now available for purchase at a recommended retail price of 139 Euros.
