A&W Offers Free Root Beer Floats, Raises Funds for Veterans

A&W Restaurants will offer free root beer floats to customers in celebration of National Root Beer Float Day, a move that also serves to raise funds for veterans. This annual event builds on the chain's established commitment to supporting American veterans, following a record fundraising total last year.

In 2025, A&W raised over $175,000 for DAV (Disabled American Veterans). This year's campaign will again include opportunities for guest donations and the sale of a limited-edition collector's mug. The initiative aims to raise awareness and significant financial contributions for veteran support services.

National Root Beer Float Day is observed on August 6. Free root beer floats will be available at participating A&W Restaurants while supplies last. Customers are encouraged to make direct donations to DAV, which provides assistance and resources to disabled veterans and their families.
