AWS enables AI-driven cloud migration for Department of War applications

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has partnered with CloudHedge to modernize critical applications for the Department of War (DoW) using AI and cloud technology. The initiative aims to address security vulnerabilities and high maintenance costs associated with aging software.

The solution centers on CloudHedge's CHAI platform, which leverages generative AI capabilities from AWS's Amazon Bedrock. This platform is designed to accelerate the discovery, assessment, and transformation of legacy applications into modern cloud environments.

The CHAI platform integrates three key components: DART (Discovery, Assessment, and Rationalization Tool) for initial analysis, Flow Federal Edition for migration and modernization, and the CHAI Universe Model Context Protocol (MCP). All components are powered by Amazon Bedrock to provide intelligent insights and automation.

The workflow begins with DART assessing source code and workloads. Flow Federal Edition then handles the migration and transformation process, supporting various strategies from lift-and-shift to containerization and direct AI-driven modifications. The entire process is built to meet the stringent security standards of defense organizations.

This approach is intended to reduce the risks of outdated IT systems and ensure that defense capabilities are supported by up-to-date and secure technology, improving overall operational efficiency and responsiveness.
