AWS Enhances AI Services with New Model Capabilities in Asia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its artificial intelligence offerings, focusing on its Amazon Bedrock platform. A significant update includes the availability of OpenAI GPT models, such as GPT-6 Sol, Luna, and Astra, across Southeast Asian regions.

These new capabilities allow users to access the models from various countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan. The service leverages global cross-Region inference, enhancing model performance and availability regionally. It supports Converse and OpenAI-compatible APIs, along with IAM and SCP permissions.

Additionally, a recap titled "ICYMI: What landed for AI builders in September 2026," released in November 2026, highlights further September updates. These include a broader selection of models, faster serverless agents within Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, and automated knowledge base syncing through native enterprise connectors.

AWS has also shared insights into Postman's use of Agent Mode, which serves 40 million developers via Amazon Bedrock. These developments aim to solidify AWS's position as an AI infrastructure provider, offering versatile and scalable solutions for developers.
