AWS Impact Accelerator opens applications for Latino founders

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has opened applications for its Impact Accelerator Latino Founders cohort. This program is designed to provide pre-seed Latino founders with funding, training, mentorship, and tools to accelerate their businesses.

The Impact Accelerator, a $30 million fund launched by AWS, aims to provide equitable access to resources for underrepresented founders, including those from the Latino community. Data from Crunchbase indicates that funding for U.S.-based Latino-led companies significantly dropped to $2.7 billion in the first three quarters of 2022, representing only 1.5% of total U.S. venture capital.

AWS is partnering with Latino-led venture capital firms such as LatinxVC and VC Familia to offer participants access to expertise and networks. The program will also provide selected companies with AWS cloud technology expertise and support.

The Impact Accelerator was initially launched nearly a year ago to support Black, Latino, women, and LGBTQIA+ founders. The opening of applications for the Latino Founders cohort provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to scale their ventures using AWS cloud solutions.
