AWS offers open Bitcoin and Ethereum datasets for cross-chain analytics

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has made open datasets from the Bitcoin and Ethereum public blockchains available. This new offering aims to simplify the analysis of blockchain data, particularly across multiple chains.

As Web3 activity grows, more data is being hosted on public blockchains. This data, which can amount to terabytes, contains details on transactions, token exchanges, and smart contract usage. Analyzing this information effectively across multiple chains has presented a challenge. Directly querying distributed ledgers is often time-consuming, inefficient, and unsuited for deep analytics.

AWS's new, experimental datasets provide immediate access to blockchain data without the need for users to operate their own full nodes or construct complex data ingestion pipelines. This allows for the examination of public keys, addresses, transaction volumes, and timestamps. The datasets also include metadata such as mining difficulty and network hash rate, which are crucial for understanding network status.

The solution also supports analyzing data from burgeoning sectors like the NFT market. Metadata residing on blockchains can contain information about asset ownership, which can be analyzed within the context of various decentralized applications. AWS is also providing an open-source solution to facilitate cross-chain analytics utilizing these public datasets.
