AWS OpenSearch Service adds disaster recovery with snapshot and restore

This feature allows users to create point-in-time backups of their OpenSearch domains, known as snapshots, and restore them to recover data.

Amazon OpenSearch Service is a fully managed offering that simplifies deploying, operating, and scaling OpenSearch domains. The newly implemented DR strategy follows an active-passive approach, capturing the entire state of a domain, including its indexes and mappings, into these snapshots.
