AWS Outlines Analytics for Faster 5G Network Planning

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is outlining new methods to enhance the planning of 5G networks by utilizing data analytics and artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to speed up the market deployment of these networks and optimize their performance.

Traditional network planning often focuses on ensuring coverage and capacity. According to guidance released by AWS, existing planning processes can be improved by integrating additional data, such as user movement patterns and real-time network traffic. This enables more precise cell site selection and network optimization.

The publication specifically highlights solutions offered by partners within the AWS Partner Network (APN), such as Kinetica. Kinetica's platform combines GPU-accelerated data processing, real-time analytics, location intelligence, and machine learning. This allows Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to efficiently analyze vast amounts of data.

AWS suggests that these new analytical tools will assist telecommunications companies in accelerating their digital transformation and capitalizing on the economic opportunities that 5G technology presents. More accurate planning is expected to lead to improved customer experiences and faster launches of new services.
