AWS Weekly Roundup: Claude Fable 5.1 on AWS, Amazon Linux 2027 Preview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1 AI model on its cloud platform. The new model is stated to deliver advanced intelligence for demanding tasks in coding, scientific research, and enterprise workflows.

Claude Fable 5.1 is designed for long-running, high-stakes tasks that can span multiple applications and last for hours. According to Anthropic, the model can independently manage larger software projects, including implementing features across an entire codebase, code review, and performance optimization during extended sessions.

The model is designated a "Covered Model," which entails stricter data retention, safety review, and access policies. AWS will retain user prompts and model outputs for up to 30 days for human safety review within AWS boundaries. Amazon Bedrock does not share user data with the model provider.

Additionally, AWS and Anthropic have developed Enterprise Frontier Safeguards (EFS), a feature enabling eligible enterprise customers to use Covered Models while keeping their data within their own cloud environment and protected. The data remains accessible and secured for the enterprise.

Other recent announcements include the release of a preview version of the Amazon Linux 2027 operating system. AWS has also introduced a new certification, AWS Certified AI Business Strategist.
