AXE YAMAZAKI debuts SEW VOYAGE portable sewing machines in U.S.

Japanese manufacturer AXE YAMAZAKI has officially launched its SEW VOYAGE brand in the United States, targeting users who require mobile and lightweight sewing solutions. The company aims to address a gap in the market for machines that are easy to transport for crafting, classes, or travel.

The initial U.S. lineup features five models, each weighing less than six pounds. Designed for portability, the machines include options for battery operation, allowing users to sew in locations without immediate access to power outlets. CEO Kazushi Yamazaki stated that the development of this line was driven by feedback from crafters who found traditional, heavier machines difficult to move.

AXE YAMAZAKI brings over 80 years of manufacturing experience to the U.S., following reported sales of 150,000 units of its similar product series in Japan. The company has previously received several international accolades, including the iF Design Award. The new machines are priced between $139 and $239 and are currently available through Amazon and the company’s website.
