The publication coincides with European Cybersecurity Month.

The importance of Incident Detection and Response (IDR) processes is growing due to an increasingly complex threat landscape. These processes focus on identifying and reacting to security incidents. Axians states that preventive measures alone are no longer sufficient to address sophisticated threats.

A Security Operations Center (SOC) acts as a central unit that continuously monitors, analyzes, and defends against threats. SOC analysts collaborate with other cybersecurity experts using specialized tools. SIEM is a tool used by SOC analysts for monitoring, collecting and analyzing data in real-time to detect unusual activity and signs of potential attacks.

EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) is a solution that systematically monitors all types of endpoints, such as computers and mobile devices. It identifies suspicious behavior and enables targeted responses to both known and unknown threats. NDR (Network Detection and Response) extends visibility to network interactions, complementing EDR and SIEM. XDR (Extended Detection and Response) integrates these various solutions for broader threat detection and response.
