Axians: Juniper Mist AI Enhances Enterprise Networks

Axians has launched the Juniper Mist network solution, which utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) for enterprise network management. This technology integrates wireless local area network (WLAN), switching, and SD-WAN, aiming to simplify network maintenance and boost performance.

Mist Systems, acquired by Juniper in 2018, focuses on AI-driven network management. Unlike traditional systems that view networks solely from an infrastructure perspective, Juniper Mist analyzes network functionality from the viewpoint of each connected client device, such as laptops, smartphones, and IoT devices. The objective is to ensure network performance meets user expectations.

The AI assistant, named Marvis, analyzes data using machine learning to proactively identify and resolve network issues. This reduces manual troubleshooting and support requests, thereby saving company resources. The system monitors Service Level Expectations (SLEs) to ensure adequate signal strength, data throughput, and network stability.

The modular architecture of Juniper Mist allows for rapid deployment of updates and patches without downtime. Virtual Bluetooth Beacons can be used for indoor location services, such as navigation and contact tracing, eliminating the need for separate hardware installations. The Premium Analytics service enables the integration of collected data with other systems for deeper analysis.
