Ayaneo Konkr Pocket Advance Modernizes Nintendo's Game Boy Advance
Ayaneo's Konkr Pocket Advance handheld brings Nintendo's classic Game Boy Advance into the modern era with an updated screen, improved controls, and Android.

Ayaneo has launched the Konkr Pocket Advance, a handheld gaming device that offers a modernized take on Nintendo's classic Game Boy Advance (GBA). The unit combines the GBA's nostalgic design with contemporary features, including an upgraded screen, new controls, and the Android 12 operating system.
The Konkr Pocket Advance closely mirrors the GBA's original dimensions but adds eight extra buttons, including X and Y action buttons, plus four shoulder buttons. It features a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen with an aspect ratio and resolution optimized for GBA games. Internally, the console houses a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, a cooling fan, and a 4,000mAh battery.
Running Android 12, the device offers a more familiar setup process for users accustomed to smartphones. Ayaneo's custom launcher, AYASpace, simplifies the installation of emulators, and the Google Play Store provides access to additional applications. The handheld is available in two configurations: 3GB RAM and 32GB storage for $109, or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for $129.
The Ayaneo Konkr Pocket Advance is well-suited for retro gaming, supporting emulation of titles from platforms like the PlayStation 1 and Sega Dreamcast. However, the device lacks analog sticks, which limits its utility for more modern games and Android titles. While capable of emulating older consoles effectively, its performance can vary, and some Android applications, such as Disney Plus, may not function without issues.
Ayaneo competes in the market with devices like the Anbernic RG34XX. While Anbernic's unit is cheaper, the Ayaneo Konkr Pocket Advance offers superior performance, a higher-resolution display, and more ergonomic controls, making it a more compelling option for many despite the price difference.
