AYANEO has announced further details regarding its Pocket PLAY handheld console project, indicating that the team is currently in a refinement phase and intends to accelerate the development timeline.
The company shared during a recent product session, as reported by IT Home on July 5, that while the overall research and development for Pocket PLAY is proceeding smoothly, the team is dedicated to polishing product specifics. This includes optimizing color schemes, fine-tuning the slide mechanism, enhancing the touchpad's feel, calibrating cameras, and improving signal reception and thermal management.
The company aims to speed up the development process to allow eager users to experience the Pocket PLAY sooner. The device, previously unveiled in the first quarter, features the MTK Dimensity 9300 processor. It sports a classic side-sliding design that integrates a full gaming controller, enabling a swift transition into gaming mode.
AYANEO Pocket PLAY is equipped with a 6.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display. The screen offers a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. It supports variable refresh rates, switchable between 120Hz, 144Hz, and 165Hz.
