Aztec Minerals Secures Funding for San Mateo Project
Aztec Minerals announced on May 5, 2026, that it has secured a CA$1.5 million loan facility to advance its San Mateo copper-porphyry project in Chile. This funding is earmarked for expanding the project and initiating new drilling campaigns.
The company intends to use the proceeds to drill 10 to 15 additional holes in the eastern section of the San Mateo deposit, where previous drilling has intersected significant copper mineralization. Aztec Minerals expects to receive preliminary concentrate results from ongoing metallurgical test work in the upcoming weeks.
Simon Dyakowski, CEO of Aztec Minerals, stated that the financing provides the necessary capital to advance the project. The company views the San Mateo project as a key asset with substantial potential.
The San Mateo project is located in a region known for its mineral wealth. The newly funded drilling program is expected to provide further data to delineate the deposit and inform future development decisions.
