B. Braun increases revenue by 4.4 percent in challenging environment

The B. Braun group expanded its business in the 2024 fiscal year, achieving revenues of 9.1 billion euros, a 4.4 percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth occurred within a challenging global economic environment. Profit before tax improved significantly due to enhanced efficiency and optimized structures.

At constant exchange rates, B. Braun's revenue grew by 6.8 percent, aligning with the company's strategic growth target of 5 to 7 percent. The gross margin increased by 1.3 percentage points to 39.2 percent, driven primarily by production optimizations and growth in profitable segments. This helped offset rising costs for energy, raw materials, and personnel.

EBITDA reached 1,101.9 million euros, with the EBITDA margin improving to 12.1 percent. Profit before tax saw a 31.1 percent increase, amounting to 270 million euros. The improved earnings enabled B. Braun to invest 1.3 billion euros in new technologies, research and development, and expanding production capacity. The company allocated 5.8 percent of its revenue to R&D.

B. Braun continued to drive innovations to improve both its internal processes and those of its customers. The company focuses on integrated solutions combining products, software, and services. Examples include the Spaceplus infusion pump system and OnlineSuiteplus for data management, which enhance safety and efficiency in healthcare. Additionally, the company developed a solution for intensive care units to connect equipment from various manufacturers and created VR training for the use of dialysis machines.

The number of employees increased to 64,262, with new hires primarily in production and R&D. This growth supports B. Braun's aim to develop innovations and set new standards in the healthcare sector.
