Back Market Expands Philanthropic Efforts
Refurbished electronics retailer Back Market has deepened its commitment to social responsibility through strategic partnerships. The company focuses on reducing electronic waste and bridging the digital divide.

Back Market, a company specializing in refurbished electronics, has expanded its philanthropic initiatives by forging long-term partnerships with organizations focused on environmental causes and the refurbishment industry. These collaborations aim to create a tangible positive impact, addressing critical issues such as electronic waste and digital exclusion.
The company has partnered with the CTL Foundation, a Dutch organization dedicated to transforming electronic industry byproducts into opportunities in Africa. Since 2021, Back Market's support has contributed to e-waste cleanup, job creation, and safe handling of electronic waste recycling and disposal within African communities.
To combat the digital divide, Back Market collaborates with Emmaüs Connect. This partnership provides digital skills training to underserved communities, including the elderly and disadvantaged populations, empowering them to navigate an increasingly digital world. The initiative aims to ensure greater access to essential services and social connections.
Further supporting its mission, Back Market also partners with CFA Ducretet for its Re.Purpose Careers program. This initiative, developed with insurance providers Cardif and Bolttech, trains individuals to become professional tech refurbishers, offering them specialized skills and career prospects in the growing refurbishment sector. The company also grants employees two annual 'protesting days' to engage in community and environmental activities.
