Bahrain Approves $3.89 Billion in Investment Projects
The Kingdom of Bahrain has issued four major investment licenses during the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum to boost logistics, real estate, and technology sectors.

Bahrain has awarded its 'Golden License' to four significant infrastructure and technology projects, totaling $3.89 billion in investment. The announcement took place at the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum, an event organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) to attract international capital to the region.
The approved projects focus on expanding Bahrain’s industrial and digital footprint. DHL is set to establish a regional maintenance and repair hub at Bahrain International Airport, while AirAsia parent company Capital A will invest in three aviation projects to improve regional connectivity and cargo logistics. Real estate development firm Infracorp, in partnership with Meliá, plans to build a waterfront hotel and residential complex in Amwaj. Additionally, Digital City Bahrain will launch a dedicated hub for information and communication technology (ICT) and innovation.
These investments are part of the Kingdom's long-term economic diversification strategy. With non-oil activities currently accounting for approximately 86% of its GDP, Bahrain is leveraging its public-private partnership model to compete as a regional hub for global business.
