Bahrain awards 3.89 billion dollar investment licenses to four major projects

The Kingdom of Bahrain announced 3.89 billion dollars in new investments during the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum in Manama. The projects, which received Golden Licenses, span the aviation logistics, real estate, and technology sectors, aiming to accelerate the country's economic diversification.

Key developments include a regional maintenance and overhaul (MRO) facility for DHL at Bahrain International Airport and three aviation ventures by Capital A, the parent company of AirAsia, designed to expand air cargo capacity and connectivity. Additionally, Infracorp is partnering on a waterfront hospitality project in Amwaj, while Digital City Bahrain plans to launch an innovation hub to host cluster technology firms.

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) facilitated the agreements, emphasizing a public-private partnership model to attract foreign capital. By focusing on non-oil industries, which currently account for approximately 86% of the national GDP, the government aims to solidify its position as a regional hub for trade and digital services.
