Baidu Denies Reports of Kunlunxin IPO Delay
Baidu has rejected claims that the initial public offering for its AI chip subsidiary, Kunlunxin, has been postponed.
Baidu issued a statement on November 3rd dismissing market rumors regarding a potential delay in the public listing of its AI chip division, Kunlunxin. The company stated that such reports are inaccurate, though it provided no specific timeline for the offering.
The company noted that Kunlunxin is currently in a confidential filing period. Under regulatory requirements, Baidu remains restricted from disclosing material non-public information, including specific milestones in the IPO process. The company stated it will release further updates at the appropriate time.
Kunlunxin, a former internal division of Baidu, has been pursuing an exit through public markets. In January 2026, the company filed an application with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, while simultaneously initiating IPO guidance for a domestic listing on the Shanghai Star Market in May 2026 with CICC as the sponsor. Upon completion of any potential spin-off, Kunlunxin is expected to remain a subsidiary of Baidu, which currently retains a 57.67% stake in the entity.
