Baidu Faces Lawsuit Over AI Business Claims

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU) by shareholder rights law firm Robbins LLP. The complaint alleges that the Chinese technology company overstated the ability of its artificial intelligence (AI) business to offset declines in its legacy online marketing segment.

The lawsuit covers investors who purchased Baidu securities between November 18, 2025, and August 17, 2026. The complaint claims that Baidu assured investors that its AI-powered business growth would mitigate falling revenues from its core online marketing services, which represented a significant portion of the company's total revenue.

Baidu's stock price experienced significant drops following financial reports in February and August 2026. The February report showed a year-over-year revenue decline, despite claims of strong AI business growth. The August report revealed further decreases in both general business and AI segments, with AI growth decelerating and specific components, like AI Cloud Infra, experiencing quarter-over-quarter declines. This led to substantial drops in the company's American Depositary Shares (ADS) price.

Robbins LLP is urging investors who suffered considerable losses during the specified period to contact them by the lead plaintiff deadline of November 13, 2026. The firm represents investors in securities fraud litigation and operates on a contingency fee basis.
