Baidu Maps Releases V22 with Enhanced Lane-Level Navigation and Safety Features

Baidu Maps has officially released its V22 version, bringing notable enhancements to its navigation capabilities. The update focuses on three key areas: lane-level navigation 4.0, SR navigation 2.0, and an all-domain escort system.

The lane-level navigation 4.0 has been expanded to cover a wider range of road networks, terrains, and intersections. This upgrade now extends navigation services to internal roads within residential communities and business parks, aiming to provide a seamless experience from vehicle location to parking spot.

SR navigation 2.0 further integrates road information with real-time vehicle perception. This feature now extends guidance and environmental presentation from public roads to parking lots, improving the driving experience in both manual and assisted driving scenarios. The new version incorporates AI-generated rendering for varied visual styles and more precise environmental details.

The all-domain escort system is designed to promptly relay information about road anomalies to drivers. It supports over 30 types of safety alerts, detecting and warning about significant road hazards in real-time, thereby helping users anticipate traffic conditions.

Baidu Maps V22 also upgrades its AI services. New features include an improved AI search that understands complex, conversational queries, and an AI travel planner that can create itineraries based on multiple criteria and answer specific questions about destinations. An AI co-pilot provides companionship and information during the journey.
