Baidu, the Chinese technology giant, has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company reported total revenues of 31.3 billion yuan (approximately $4.3 billion). Notably, Baidu's artificial intelligence (AI) business demonstrated significant growth, with its share of general business revenue reaching 50%, marking the second consecutive quarter where AI constituted over half of these revenues.

During the quarter, Baidu's AI cloud infrastructure, particularly its GPU cloud services, saw a substantial increase in revenue, growing by 283%. This represents the fourth consecutive quarter of triple-digit growth for its GPU cloud offerings. Following the earnings release, CEO Robin Li expressed confidence that Baidu's large language model, Wenxin, is on track to regain its position among the top-tier AI models. The company also reiterated its plan for a primary listing in Hong Kong within the year.

During the subsequent analyst Q&A session, Baidu's management emphasized the company's commitment to AI development. They highlighted plans to increase resources for Wenxin, including the recruitment of top AI talent, to accelerate model iteration and enhance its competitiveness. The focus will be on key application areas such as AI search, digital humans, and other AI-driven products.

The growth in Baidu's intelligent cloud segment is attributed to robust demand for AI computing power in China and an expanding customer base. The company has established a differentiated, full-stack AI architecture that integrates chips, cloud infrastructure, large models, and applications. This integrated approach is seen as a key competitive advantage. Baidu anticipates that AI cloud revenues will maintain strong momentum throughout the second half of the year.
