Baidu's Luobo Kuaipao denies foreign control claims, files lawsuit

Baidu's autonomous driving service, Luobo Kuaipao (萝卜快跑), issued a statement on August 28, strongly refuting online claims that the company is controlled by foreign capital. The statement addresses videos shared by certain online accounts that allegedly list Luobo Kuaipao's top shareholders and fabricate narratives about foreign control.

According to Luobo Kuaipao, these claims are factually incorrect and are used to incite nationalist sentiment, create division, and mislead the public. The company asserts that such content infringes upon its brand reputation and legitimate rights.

Luobo Kuaipao's legal department has stated that it has secured evidence of these online posts and identified the actual operators of some accounts. The company has now filed lawsuits with the People's Court to pursue accountability for the infringement.
