Bald Birds Brewing Faces $18.5 Million Lawsuit From Former Partner

Bald Birds Brewing, founded in 2018 by Joe and Abby Feerrar, is now facing legal action from Two Roads Brewing Company and investor W. Whitney George, who are collectively demanding $18.5 million. The lawsuit claims include allegations of unpaid loans, wages, leases, and other debts.

This legal action adds to the brewery's ongoing financial difficulties. Reports indicate that Bald Birds Brewing's total legal troubles, encompassing issues like merchant cash advances and defaulted commercial leases, may amount to approximately $20 million.

The brewery, which at its peak operated four taprooms and a production facility in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, had previously been part of the B3 Beverage platform. This platform also included Two Roads Brewing, Yards Brewing Company, and Heavy Seas Beer. Two Roads Brewing has since withdrawn from this arrangement.

Bald Birds Brewing has also faced scrutiny from state labor officials. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry ordered the company to pay over $500,000 in back wages and compensation following numerous employee complaints regarding unpaid wages and cash flow shortages.
