Ballistic Ventures seeks $490M across two new investment funds

San Francisco-based venture capital firm Ballistic Ventures is targeting $490 million in new capital, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The firm intends to raise $360 million for its third flagship fund, matching the size of its 2024 predecessor, and $130 million for a secondary vehicle titled Ballistic Ventures Fund B.

The capital raise occurs as the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence introduces more sophisticated threats, driving demand for specialized cybersecurity solutions. This shift in the threat landscape has increased investor interest in the cybersecurity sector, benefiting firms positioned to support nascent security technologies.

Established in 2021 by former Kleiner Perkins partner Ted Schlein alongside industry veterans Barmak Meftah and Roger Thornton, Ballistic Ventures maintains a strict sector focus. Regulatory documentation indicates that no capital had been formally committed to the new funds at the time of the filing.
