Bambu Lab Launches R1 Laser Cutter, Expanding Beyond 3D Printing
3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has introduced its first product outside of 3D printing: the R1 laser cutter. The new device offers 55W power and marks an expansion into the laser cutting market.
Bambu Lab, a company known for its 3D printers, has launched the R1, a 55W CO₂ laser cutter and engraver. This release signifies the company's first product line venturing beyond its established 3D printing business.
The R1 is capable of cutting through materials such as 18mm black walnut plywood and 20mm acrylic. An optional conveyor accessory allows the machine to process longer materials, up to 3 meters in length.
The R1 laser cutter is priced starting at $2,499 in the United States. Preorders are scheduled to open on September 22, with shipments expected to commence in October.
