BAND and Docker Integrate Sandboxed Local Execution for Multi-Agent Teams

BAND and Docker have integrated their development tools, enabling coding agents to run within secure Docker Sandboxes while remaining connected to a broader agent team.

A new integration allows developers to run coding agents inside isolated Docker Sandboxes, while keeping them connected to other agents via the BAND collaboration platform.

This combination addresses the growing need to securely execute code and handle files within autonomous AI systems. BAND provides a collaboration layer that enables communication and task distribution among agents, while Docker Sandboxes creates an isolated microVM environment locally and in the cloud. The integration simplifies the formation of effective agent teams.

"Agents shouldn't have to live in the same environment to work together," said Arick Goomanovsky, CEO of BAND. "BAND provides the collaboration layer, while Docker Sandboxes provides an isolated execution environment. Together, they make it much easier to compose these agents into efficiently working teams."

The integration connects the systems via a WebSocket connection, granting locally running agents secure access to development environments. Docker's Eli Aleyner emphasized that Docker Sandboxes offers a secure and managed environment for agents, enabling collaboration even when agents are deployed in different locations.

The new architecture supports more complex workflows where different agents—such as planning, research, and coding agents—can collaborate within a BAND room, each in its own isolated environment. This enables the combination of hosted and locally executing agents without requiring every agent to access the same data or environment.
