BandLab Appoints New CEO
Singapore-based music technology firm BandLab has named Ivan Chen as its new CEO. Meng Ru Kuok will transition to the role of Executive Chairman.
BandLab Technologies, a music technology company headquartered in Singapore, has appointed Ivan Chen as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1. Chen, who previously held positions as COO and president, will oversee the company's day-to-day operations. Co-founder Meng Ru Kuok will move into the role of Executive Chairman.
This leadership transition follows a period of significant growth for BandLab. In March 2024, the company announced that its music-making application surpassed 100 million registered users. BandLab Technologies was reorganized under its parent company, Caldecott Music Group, in 2021.
BandLab secured US$25 million in funding in 2023 and continues to develop its platform, which includes AI-powered tools for music creation. As executive chairman, Kuok will remain involved with BandLab while continuing as group CEO of Caldecott Music Group, guiding the broader strategic direction.
