Los Angeles-based menswear label Barabas confirmed it designed the white suit worn by iShowSpeed and the blue suits worn by Gustavo Dudamel and his musicians at the World Cup Final. The brand highlights the unexpected global exposure.
Independent Los Angeles menswear brand Barabas has confirmed it was the designer behind the white suit worn by streamer iShowSpeed during his performance at the World Cup Final. The brand also supplied the blue suits worn by conductor Gustavo Dudamel and his orchestra during the same event. Barabas stated that these were not sponsored appearances, as they have no affiliation with iShowSpeed, Dudamel, or FIFA.
The white suit iShowSpeed wore is the Barabas "Endless Brushed Cotton Suit," and the lapel pin featured a Faravahar symbol, representing the ancient Persian philosophy of good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. The blue suits worn by Dudamel and the musicians are the Barabas "Palma Pinstripe Suit." Both are original designs by the brand.
Barabas noted the significant online attention the clothing generated, with millions of views across platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The unexpected choice of the same small brand by two vastly different prominent figures on a global stage led to widespread discussion about the "mysterious LA brand."
"Barabas was built for people who refuse to blend in, and that has never meant one kind of person," said Sam Esteghball, CEO of Barabas. He suggested that the unplanned nature of these wardrobe choices provided a stronger message for the brand than any orchestrated campaign could.
