Barchart Launches cmdtyView Labs for Programmatic Commodity Data Access
Barchart has launched cmdtyView Labs, a new developer offering that provides programmatic access to its comprehensive commodity market data, including real-time quotes and historical information.

Chicago – Barchart, a provider of market data and technology services for the commodity industry, has released cmdtyView Labs. This new developer platform offers programmatic access to the extensive market data available through Barchart's cmdtyView service, including real-time quotes, historical time series, forward curves, and options analytics.
The offering is designed for developers, quantitative analysts, and technical teams, enabling them to incorporate commodity market data into proprietary applications, quantitative models, and automated workflows. Barchart states the solution facilitates faster development of trading strategies, risk management tools, and custom analytics applications.
cmdtyView Labs connects locally to the cmdtyView Desktop application via a WebSocket connection. Data is delivered through an efficient Protocol Buffer feed, minimizing network latency for time-sensitive applications. The platform supports official Software Development Kits (SDKs) for multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, and JavaScript.
Barchart positions cmdtyView Labs as an expansion of its solutions for commodity workflows. The service is available via subscription and requires the cmdtyView Desktop application.
