Barchetta Italian Chophouse Opens at Omni Fort Lauderdale

Omni Fort Lauderdale announced the opening of Barchetta, a new coastal Italian chophouse situated on the Intracoastal Waterway. Located at 1880 SE 17th St., adjacent to the hotel and the Broward County Convention Center, the restaurant offers a modern interpretation of coastal Italian culinary traditions, blending imported Italian ingredients with South Florida influences.

Led by Executive Chef David Caceres, Barchetta's menu includes signature dishes such as Bistecca Fiorentina, a prime T-bone steak for two; Frutti di Mare, featuring Florida black grouper and caviar; and Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, a handmade pasta dish. The beverage program offers Italian-inspired cocktails and a selection of Italian wines.

The restaurant's name, "Barchetta," translates to "little boat" in Italian, evoking imagery of the Mediterranean coast and classic Italian sports cars. The interior design incorporates warm tones, wood, stone, and leather, aiming to create an inviting atmosphere with contemporary details.

The opening of Barchetta is expected to create approximately 52 jobs and contribute to the hospitality and tourism sector in Broward County. "Barchetta is an important part of that vision," stated Gayla Guyse, General Manager of Omni Fort Lauderdale, referring to the hotel's goal of integrating with the local community.

Barchetta is open Tuesday through Sunday. Dinner service runs from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with extended hours until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations can be made via OpenTable.
