Basecamp Research Raises $140M for AI-Designed Therapeutics
AI company Basecamp Research announced $140 million in Series C financing to advance its pipeline of AI-designed therapeutics. The funding will support the training of new AI models and further clinical development.
Basecamp Research, a company focused on developing medicines using artificial intelligence, announced on September 23, 2026, that it has secured $140 million in Series C funding. The oversubscribed round was led by S32, with participation from NVIDIA and other investors.
The capital injection is earmarked for training a new generation of the company's EDEN models and progressing its AI-designed therapeutics toward clinical trials. Basecamp aims to develop treatments for currently incurable diseases by designing medicines that reprogram the body's self-repair mechanisms, combining advanced AI models with DNA sequencing technology.
"We believe the future of medicine lies in reprogramming the body to repair itself. We design the models and the medicines to teach it how," stated Glen Gowers, co-founder and CEO of Basecamp Research. "AI-based approaches promise to change what's possible for patients who currently have few alternatives. This funding brings this technology closer to those who need it most."
The company is applying its EDEN platform to in vivo cell therapy, which involves reprogramming a patient's cells within their own body. Basecamp has reported strong preclinical results across various disease areas and intends to leverage the new funding to expand its pharmaceutical partnerships.
