BASF raises 2026 earnings outlook following Q3 sales growth
Chemical giant BASF has increased its full-year earnings guidance after reporting a 15% rise in EBITDA for the third quarter of 2026.

BASF posted third-quarter sales of €16.4 billion, a 14% increase from the same period last year. The revenue growth was primarily driven by a 12% rise in product pricing and a 2% increase in sales volumes across its core chemical, materials, and industrial solutions segments.
Despite the growth in EBITDA to €1.6 billion, the company reported an EBIT loss of €98 million for the quarter. This deficit stems largely from significant restructuring costs at its Ludwigshafen facility and a €318 million impairment charge within its Monomers division.
CEO Markus Kamieth noted that the strong performance of core businesses year-to-date justifies an upward adjustment to the company's full-year outlook. BASF now expects EBITDA before special items to reach between €7.4 billion and €7.8 billion for 2026. Guidance regarding free cash flow and carbon emissions targets remains unchanged from previous projections.
