Battlefield 6 to Fix Spelling Error in Cosmetic Skin, Retains Five Holsters

Battlefield 6 developer DICE has responded to player criticism regarding new cosmetic skins in its fifth season. A spelling mistake will be corrected, but an excessive number of pistol holsters will remain as an intended design choice.

Game developer DICE has issued an official response addressing player criticism surrounding new cosmetic skins introduced in Battlefield 6's fifth season. The developers confirmed that a spelling error on one cosmetic item will be rectified in an upcoming update. However, for another design featuring an exaggerated five pistol holsters, DICE stated it is an intentional creative choice and will not be removed from the game.

Players had voiced dissatisfaction upon the season's launch on October 13. Specifically, a skin incorrectly spelled "security" as "secuty." Additionally, a character skin was depicted with five pistol holsters, prompting confusion and mockery within the community. DICE acknowledged the error and announced it will be fixed in the November update. The studio stated that such mistakes do not meet their quality standards and that they are reviewing internal processes to enhance quality control.

In contrast, DICE clarified that the numerous pistol holsters on the "Midnight Mirage" skin are an intentional design. The developers explained this as a nod to over-the-top action movie tropes where characters often carry backup weapons. The studio understands that this design might appear as an oversight, especially when released alongside another clearly erroneous cosmetic item.

DICE has pledged to continue monitoring community feedback and incorporate it into future developments. The game's fifth season began last week, introducing new maps and game modes. The developers emphasized their commitment to exploring new creative avenues and improving the game's aesthetics based on player input.
