BayCare Hospital Manatee Topping Out Ceremony Held in Palmetto, Florida
BayCare celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its first hospital in Manatee County, Florida, with a topping out ceremony for BayCare Hospital Manatee. The new facility is scheduled to open in 2028.

PALMETTO, Florida – BayCare marked a significant construction milestone today by placing the final steel beam for the upcoming BayCare Hospital Manatee. The ceremony, attended by over 300 guests including community leaders, employees, and representatives from construction firm Robins & Morton, signifies BayCare's commitment to expanding healthcare access in Manatee County.
Scheduled to open in 2028, the over 436,000-square-foot hospital will feature 154 private patient rooms, with the capacity to expand to 207 beds. This facility will become BayCare's 17th hospital and the first not-for-profit hospital in Manatee County, also marking the first hospital north of the Manatee River.
BayCare Hospital Manatee will offer a comprehensive range of acute care services, including emergency care, general and specialty surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, urology, orthopedics, and obstetrics. The hospital will also house a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), nearly doubling access to this level of specialized care within the county.
The hospital is part of a broader healthcare network that includes the adjacent BayCare HealthHub Manatee. This outpatient center, slated to open in late 2026, will provide primary care, specialty services, laboratory services, and advanced imaging in one location. BayCare aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and coordination within the rapidly growing county.
