BCG Purchases Over 50,000 Tonnes of Carbon Removal Services
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has purchased over 50,000 tonnes of certified carbon dioxide removal services from ClimeFi, reinforcing its commitment to climate action and emission neutralization goals.
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced a purchase of 50,250 tonnes of certified carbon dioxide removal (CDR) services through ClimeFi. This marks BCG's second-largest durable CDR purchase to date and contributes to its broader commitment to neutralizing 100% of its emissions by 2030.
The transaction, with delivery expected by 2026, solidifies BCG's position among the top ten global buyers of durable CDR, according to reporting by CDR.fyi. In total, BCG has now secured nearly 200,000 tonnes of durable CDR.
By partnering with ClimeFi, BCG gains access to a diverse portfolio of high-quality, permanent carbon removal solutions. These solutions encompass various technological approaches, including biochar, enhanced rock weathering, microbial carbon mineralization, and the sequestration of CO2 into building materials.
BCG aims to support a wide range of technological innovations in the carbon removal space. This diversified procurement strategy helps scale solutions and contributes to meeting global climate targets, fostering a robust market for carbon removal technologies.
