Boston Consulting Group (BCG) experts have published a study in Harvard Business Review addressing the mental strain caused by the use of artificial intelligence tools.

The study, which surveyed 1,488 US workers in large companies, identified a phenomenon they call "AI brain fry." This state, resulting from excessive use or constant monitoring of AI tools, can lead to increased errors and cognitive overload.

According to the article, "AI brain fry" can also heighten decision fatigue and employees' intent to leave their positions. BCG researchers suggest that organizations must carefully consider how AI is integrated into workflows to safeguard employee well-being.

The findings highlight the importance of a balanced approach to AI adoption, emphasizing that technological benefits should not come at the expense of employee mental health and sustainability in the workplace.
