BCI Startup Active Technology Raises Record RMB 330 Million in Angel Round
Shanghai-based brain-computer interface (BCI) startup Active Technology has secured RMB 330 million in an angel funding round, setting a record for angel financing in China's BCI sector.

Active Technology, a Shanghai-based startup focused on brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, has closed an angel funding round totaling RMB 330 million (approximately $42 million USD). This marks a record for angel financing within China's BCI sector. The company, founded in February 2026, concentrates on invasive BCI technology.
The funding round was led by Zhongke Chuangxing, with participation from investors including Lenovo Star, 9 Capital, Daotong Investment, Inno Angel Fund, Huada Songhe Biotech Fund, Jifeng Capital, and Jiadao Capital. Active Technology announced the funds will be allocated to expanding facilities, enhancing equipment, advancing clinical trials, and growing its team.
Active Technology has established a 2,500-square-meter facility encompassing offices and a GMP-compliant workshop. The company also plans to construct a new headquarters exceeding 10,000 square meters by the end of 2026. Its product roadmap includes motor, visual, and emotional BCI interfaces, with ongoing development in flexible electrodes, dedicated chips, decoding algorithms, and system integration.
The significant capital injection highlights the growing investor interest and potential perceived in the BCI field, which holds promise for advancements in medical treatments and human-computer interaction.
