BDO Acquires VICO Research & Consulting GmbH to Expand Digital Advisory Services

Frankfurt am Main – BDO AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft announced its acquisition of technology firm VICO Research & Consulting GmbH, significantly expanding its digital advisory portfolio.

Founded in 2005, VICO employs approximately 60 people across three locations. The company specializes in AI-based technology that analyzes social media and internet data to identify and present relevant information. This technology processes vast amounts of data into order-relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for businesses. VICO's client roster includes major companies such as Volkswagen, Deutsche Telekom, Bosch, and Sharp Consumer Electronics.

"With the acquisition of VICO, we are significantly expanding our digital consulting portfolio and opening up new consulting fields in the area of customer experience," said BDO board member Parwäz Rafiqpoor. He noted that VICO's technology and expertise, combined with BDO's own consulting capabilities, will offer valuable insights to clients.

BDO Advisory Partner Frank Wiethoff described the acquisition as well-timed, stating, "We are at the beginning of a technological leap. Learning algorithms will revolutionize the way companies work." He added that BDO, together with VICO, will guide companies through this transformation. VICO will initially continue to operate under its own name, with its current managing directors, Marc Trömel and Philipp Tiedt, becoming partners at BDO.
