Beijing Adds 10 Smart Home Product Categories to Subsidies
Beijing has expanded its smart home consumer subsidies to include 10 new product categories, such as smart locks and robots. The program offers a 15% subsidy, capped at 1,500 Yuan per item.
Beijing has announced the addition of 10 new categories of smart home products to its consumer subsidy program, effective immediately. This expansion, part of the city's "trade-in for new" initiative, aims to boost consumption of smart appliances and devices.
The newly eligible products include smart door locks, smart cameras, robotic vacuum cleaners, smart toilet seats, digital cameras, wireless earbuds, whole-home smart control hubs, smart beds, smart electric wheelchairs, and various forms of embodied intelligent robots, such as companion robots and robotic dogs.
To qualify for the subsidy, products must feature smart functionalities and possess a unified national standard product code. Items that use energy or water efficiency labels must meet Level 1 standards.
Consumers will receive a 15% subsidy on the final sale price after all discounts and promotions. The subsidy is capped at 1,500 Yuan (approximately $210 USD) per item, with a limit of one subsidized item per person per product category.
The subsidy is applied directly at the point of sale through the "Jing Tong" mobile application, where consumers can claim subsidy vouchers. Both online and offline purchases of eligible opened products will receive the same subsidy. The program will continue until the allocated funds are depleted.
