Beijing Art and Technology Week Draws Over 1 Million Visitors
The Beijing Art and Technology Week, held at the 798 Art District, concluded after attracting over 1.05 million visitors across three weeks. The event explored the intersection of art and emerging technologies.

The second Beijing Art and Technology Week, held at the 798 Art District, has concluded, drawing 1.05 million visits over 21 days. The festival, themed "Playable Technology," featured over 100 events, including performances, exhibitions, and industry collaborations.
During the event, visitors encountered a range of artistic and technological integrations. Performances included dancers from TAO Dance Theater alongside humanoid robots, exploring the interaction between human and robotic systems. Interactive installations, such as "Yanshi's Artificial Human: An Unfinished Dance," prompted visitors to engage with concepts of machine autonomy and control, while generative digital art offered immersive virtual environments.
The festival also served as a platform for practical application, with an industry conference convening artists, researchers, and technology companies. A new co-creation initiative aimed to transform the district's physical spaces into testing grounds for emerging technologies.
Internationally, 798 Art District collaborated with Austria's Ars Electronica Festival on the performance "Airy." A new residency partnership seeks to bring international creators into future cross-disciplinary projects. The event highlights 798 Art District's evolution from a former industrial site to a hub where artistic ideas, technological experimentation, and public life converge.
